I'm pissed we didn't have one before now. Lets make this an epic thread.... fuck cricket.
Well, it appears that the cowboys are the class of the NFC and probably of the NFL. They have a top 5 quarterback, a top 5 RB, a solid and deep defense, the best TE in the league, and TO. Seriously...debate me.
Punkrocker's rankings after week 3: Top 10
1. Dallas Cowboys
2. Philadelphia Eagles
3. Green Bay Packers
4. Denver Broncos
5. Pittsburgh Steelers
6. New York Giants
7. Tennessee Titans
8. New Orleans Saints
9. Carolina Panthers
10. Minnesota Vikings (better than their record).
Things could changed tonight if the Jets really show me something against the Chargers.
The Boy's right now are the pick for the bowl, of course that would not be the case if Brady was playing for the Pat's, still, I don't think Romo has the quality to lead a team all the way to glory, maybe in a few more years time, but then of course there would be no T.O.
I see the point, but I do think this is his year and his time. True, im a bit biased, but look at Peyton Manning. His first two playoff appearances, he couldn't win a game.
He's gotten so much shit for Jessica Simpson, lost playoff games, etc... so this is his year to prove himself.
and for the record... LAST YEARS LOSS TO THE GIANTS WAS NOT ROMO'S FAULT! I hate it when people say that..obviously didn't watch the game.
Manning always had the ability, he just never had the chance to finally use that ability until he got someone else other than Harrison to throw to, Romo has T.O. and Witten two of the best receivers in the game, but for me he does not have anywhere near the same kind of field intelligence that Manning has got, sure that will probably come in future, but right now it is not good enough to help lead the Cowboys to Superbowl glory, that is my opinion though and I am probably wrong.
I think hes got the intelligence....but he doesn't always use his better judgement. For example, he thinks he can make ANY throw and NEVER wants to take the sack. While its good to have confidence, its also good to know how to manage the game and minimize mistakes. Thats where he reminds me of a young favre. Hes got the tools and his risks allow him amazing highlight throws and scrambles, but your always waiting for that one pick. Once he controls that a bit, he'll be the best in the league in my biased opinion.
I have no worries about that. It was one game, and i'm sure that Belicheck and co. will not let it happen again.
We have a veteran defense that knows how to win and im sure they were embarrassed by there perfomance and guys like Vrabel and Rodney will make sure to keep everyone and line and step it up the rest of the season.

Guess who Detroit fired? The worse CEO/President/GM in the NFL, Matt Millen. I think this could be pretty good in the future for the Lions. Now, I'm wondering if Rod Marenelli's job is in jeopardy. I like our coach, but if William Clay Ford, Jr. voices his opinion to his father...they may hire a GM that is going to fire Rod Marenelli and the rest of the coaching staff. This offseason..I'm looking for a major cleanout and revamping and rebuilding of the entire Detroit Lions organization.
My possible releases:
QB Jon Kitna
CB Brian Kelley...
Funny you should say that, I saw an article yesterday in the Dallas Morning News about Roy Williams (WR) lol, and he's talking about how his contract expires at the end of the season, and how they haven't started negotiations.
He went on to say something (Paraphrasing) "Well, you always want to play hard and stay with the team that drafted you, but as you get older, you want to come home too. I hear my family wanting me to go back to texas. We'll see where it goes"
They might just wait until he's a free agent, but the Lions are fucking tards if they don't franchise the sonofabitch.
Well, with no Matt Millen, that might actually happen now lol. Ya know? Something that makes sense? lol
The Ravens are my pick to win the bowl this year, although if the Pats make it to the off-season and get Brady back during the run up or start of the play-offs then they will win it.
The Boys are no doubt right now the favourites, but in my view they do not have the ability to do it this year, and picking the Titans is about as much of a joke as picking the Ravens is, and the Pats without Brady are not going to win the bowl, simple as that.
The titans have arguably the best defense in the league. They have a great running game, as well as a veteran QB in Kerry Collins if they need him, and they have Vince Yougn if he can stay focused. They are definetly suprising everyone right and could end up winning the divison and going deep into the playoffs.
The Ravens i will give you have a good running game, but they will find out they they're QB can't carry them through the season. Also defnese is getting old and once they start playign the cream of the crop i dont think they will even make the playoffs.
Ravens are actually a good dark-horse pick imo. I think a change of coaching was good for them and woke them up. I mean look how good they were against the pats last year!
Titans are actually convincing me. As long as their defense holds up, they have the ability to hang with any team in the AFC.
and btw, Brady tore his ACL and MCL, so theres zero chance of him playing this year. Hell, he might not be 100% by the start of next season. QB's struggle after injuries like that, example: McNabb last year.
so it looks like both Favre and bolden will be playing this week even with injuries. Also bob sanders the leader of the colts defense had knee surgery and should be out for a while.
Some big games this week Redskins @ Boys, Cardinals @ Jets, and Vikings @ Tennesse.
I still think this game says more about the skins than it does about Dallas. Campbell looked better than ever, and if he can get that offense going they are going to be dangerous.
omg this news just made my day. Romo will be out for the Giants/Cowboys game in Week 8, and that means the Giants will steamroll them and stay undefeated. We're going 14-2 this year, I think.
wow i really can't believe that goodell suspended pacman.
I actually think this punishment is to harsh, shit like this happens, Pacman didn't hurt anyone it was just a problem with his body guard, not some random person off the street.
I think the comish took this one a little to hard, and it was definetly not worth a 4 game suspension imo. Dallas Cowboys are losing players left and right.

Did you forget that when Jones was reinstated...Goodell added in a '0 Tolerancy' thing to his staying in the NFL. If he got in trouble again, boom Jones would be suspended again.
yeai knew that, but even still i think its to harsh, im not a fan of jones or anything but a 4 game suspension that didn't result in any arrests, but was more of a scuffell with a body guard that was his, not even someone he didnt know seems to much.
now i can see one game or 2, but 4 is just ridiculous.
Screw it. Pacman Suspended. I can't say he didn't deserve it, but it hurts right now.
Our punter was carried off the field this week. Romo broke a finger, out up to 4 weeks. Newman is still hurt, Pacman suspsended, Felix Jones with the bum hammy. God hates the Cowboys.
Edit: Maybe its God's way. They always said that The hole in Texas Stadium's roof was so God could watch his favorite team. Maybe God's pissed about the new Stadium's retractable dome =/
This is good news. THis guy is a beast. I hope they lock this guy down. He's a Texas boy coming home. Now, if Johnson can just get him the ball for a few weeks >.> lol
i remember them talking about him possibly coming at the beginning of the season. glad to see they got this all worked out because he is just a physical freak. if someone throws him the ball he can get it. WR core for Dallas is looking quite good now, TO, Roy, Crayton, Witten...
Don't forget the Tandem of Barber and Felix Jones.. Feel free to sneak an extra defender out into coverage...We'll have your LUNCH on the ground.
Looks good on paper, just need someone to throw the damn ball to them lol.,
Johnson will be ok. I mean, shit, he did lead a team to a Super Bowl, right? lol
Jesus fucking christ... what a whirlwind for the boys
- Romo being out for the next 3 games hurts a lot. We should beat the fucking rams, but the bucs and giants will be rough games without Romo. Maybe with Roy Williams the offense will have a bit of energy and a kick in the ass. I sure hope so. Apparently Favre called romo and told him to try to play through the pain, so we'll see. idk.
- Pacman probably won't get another shot on the boys. Jerry gave him an opportunity and he blew it. Plus he wasn't playing that great anyway....fairly average. It was a low-risk move to get him, but its now low reward.
- Felix is out. ouch.
- WE GOT ROY BABY! The dude is a beast. How the fuck do you guard TO, Roy, Crayton, Witten, and Barber in the flat? Can't.
Lets hope Brad Johnson can just hit open receivers and not turn the ball over....if we come out of the bye 6-3 I'll be happy.
Yeah, THe shittiest part of the NFC East is that only 3 teams can make it to the postseason lol.
Don't get me wrong, Fuck those guys. The only time I'd ever cheer for another NFC East team is they're playing the Pats lol.
I gotta be in agreement with ya, PR. Dallas REALLY needs 2 wins out of this stretch, and I wouldn't be offended if we lost to NY in the 3rd game, tbh. I would REALLY like a split this year with them, as winning 3 in 1 season vs 1 team is almost impossible (Read: Lucky Fucking Giants Last Year).
Speaking of Roy Williams (the WR one lol), I read in the Dallas Morning News that the expected to finalize his 6 year contract today. He's gonna retire a Cowboy. That's every Texas kid's dream growing up. Should be a great time. Hell yes.
Hmm. THe only problem I got is the 2 Roy Williams' on one team. I need to source this, but I'm pretty sure I read in the paper a few years ago that they have the same Middle initial too lol.
If that's true, I'll start a Movement to call them "Roy O. Williams" and "Roy D. Williams" lol
Anways... losing these four guys really hurts. Romo was doing really good, even in the loss to Arizona he had 320+ yards and three touchdowns to no interceptions. Though losing Romo, I feel comfortable with Brad Johnson behind center. He's really experienced and will probably take better control of the ball than Romo does. The only thing I'm concerned with here is the O-Line giving Johnson time to throw.
Losing Felix Jones hurts more than losing Romo, in my opinion. Jones was off to a great start in his rookie season, averaging 9 yards a carry and is vital in our two back system we have. Not only has he been great at RB, but he's shown a lot of potential as a kick returner. The sooner he gets back, the better.
I'm a bit disappointed by Adam Jones, but it's not like this suspension was really unexpected. I don't think Jones has been playing at the level that he was brought in to play. Though, I'd like to seem him back eventually, as Jerry Jones has said that he'd give Adam another chance here in Dallas. With Newman still out, this really hurts our CB position, and now we have to rely on our rookies.
Last but not least, our Pro Bowl punter, McBriar who was put on the IR this week. Though punting really isn't too vital when you have an offense like the Cowboys have, McBriar was the best punter in the league. This really helps us when the offense stalls and having a guy who can punt about 80 yards, ha. I'd really like to see him back next year too.
Okay, enough of the losses and to the acquistion of WR Roy Williams. I'm not sure this will solve our offensive struggle right now, but it definatley helps. Williams is a great WR, coming to a team who already has a great WR core. T.O, Austin, Crayton, Williams, and Witten are all great receiving threats. Hopefully Johnson will spread the ball around in the coming weeks.
I have no idea why we've been struggling on defense. On paper, it's probably the best in the league. There's so many stars out there just not playing at the level they were brought in to play. The only one who's been constant is DeMarcus Ware.
I'm just really concerned with the defense. Roy's production has slumped over the past few years. about 3 or 4 years ago, I'd call him the best safety in the league. Now, it's really rare to hear his name during the game.
I'm sure we can beat the 1-4 Rams this week. I'd really like to win against the Bucs and we're a better team overall, but the way the Cowboys have been playing recently, I just don't know.
